Digital Video (DV) is a video format launched in 1996, which encodes video onto tape in digital format with intraframe compression, making it straightforward totransfer the video onto computer for editing. vD tapes come in two formats: MiniDV and Db . They record digital video compressedby a DCT method at 25 Megabit per second. As acomputer file, this works out to roughly 3.5 MB per second.
