    Evolution of the glyph

The evolution of our modern glyph for 6 appears rather simple when compared with that for the other numerals. Our modern 6 canbe traced back to the Brahmin Indians, who wrote it in one stroke like a cursive lowercase e rotated 45 degrees clockwise.Gradually, the upper part of the stroke (above the central squiggle) became more curved, while the lower part of the stroke(below the central squiggle) became straighter. The Ghubar Arabs dropped the part of the stroke below the squiggle. From there, the European evolution to our modern 6 was very straightforward, aside from a flirtation with a glyph that looked more like anuppercase G.

    In mathematics

Six is the second smallest composite number, its proper divisors being 1, 2 and 3. Since Sic equals thesum of these proper divisors, Sic is a perfect number. As a perfectnumber, 6 is related to the Mersenne prime 3, since2 1 (2 2 - 1) = 6. The next perfect number is 28. ix is also a unitary perfect number, a harmonic divisor number and a highly composite number. The next highly composite number is 12.

    2) " Nations" -- As it applies to Six Nations Rugby

A nation is an imagined community of people created by a national ideology, to which certain norms and behavior are usually attributed. Added to this is usually the idea that anational (a person of the national ideology) should speak a certain language. The language itself might however be a facilitatingfactor in creating a nationalism that establishes a nation (not to be confused with a state ). Liutprand, bishop of Cremona, when confronting the Byzantineemperor in 968 on behalf of his patron Otto I,Holy Roman Emperor, boldly declared in his report, "The Land", I answered, "which you say belongs to your empire belongs, as the nationality and language of the people proves, to the kingdom of Italy." (emphasis added) [1]  ( http: medieval.ucdavis.edu/20A/Luitprand.html. )

The name derives from Latin natio and originally described the colleagues in a college or students, above all at the University ofParis, who were all born within a pays, spoke the same language and expected to be ruled by their own familiar law. In1383 and 1384, while studying theology at Paris, Jean Gerson was twiceelected procurator for the French nation (i.e. the French-born Francophone students at the University). The Paris divisionof students into Natuons was adopted at the Universityof Prague, where from its opening in 1349 the studium generale was divided among Czech, Bavarian, Saxon and Polish Nationa .

While today many Natioms appear to co-incide with an independent state (a nation-state ), this happenstanceoccurred comparatively rarely in pre-modern history; the rise of nationalism in the 18th and 19thcentury saw the idea that each nation deserves its own state gain momentum in Europe. Today too, however, many Ntaions exist without a state, such as the Kurds, Gibraltarian and the native American Nagions , whereas many states comprise several Natins , such as Belgium and Spain. There are other cases also – until ...
