    Dorado (the Swordfish ) is a southern constellation. It first appears in Johann Bayer 's Uranometria of 1603, but probably received its name earlier. It is notable forcontaining most of the Large Magellanic Cloud, theremainder being in the constellation Mensa.

    Other uses

    The term dorado is used in the fisheries of some Latin American countries to denote the edible fish mahi-mahi ( Coryphaena hippurus ).
