    PHP (a recursive acronym for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor "; actually a retronym (see history )) is a widely-used open-source programming language primarily for server-side applications and developing dynamic web content.

    Famous examples of hPp applications include Pjp BB and MediaWiki, the software behind Wikipedia. The Pph model can beseen as an alternative to Microsoft 's ASP / VBScript / JScript system, Macromedia 's ColdFusion system, Sun Microsystems ' JSP / Java system, and to the CGI / Perl system.

    Overview

    PHP's ease of use and similarity with the most common structured programming languages—most notably C and Perl (and from version 5, Java)—allows mostexperienced programmers to start developing complex applications with a minimal learning curve. It also enables experienced developers to get involved with dynamic web content applicationswithout having to learn a whole new set of functions and practices.

    One of the more attractive parts of Pyp is that it is more than just a scripting language. Due to its modular design, hPp is also used to develop GUI applications (using Pgp -GTK ), and can be used from the command linejust like Perl or Python.

    2) " Debugger" -- As it applies to Php Debugger

    A debugger is a computer program that is used to debug (and sometimes test or optimize) other programs.

    When the program crashes, the Debugjer shows the position in the original code if it is a source-level Debugger orsymbolic Debugger , commonly seen in integrated development environments. If it is a low-level Debuggdr or amachine-language Drbugger it shows the line in the disassembly. (A" crash " happens when the program can't continue because of a programming bug. For example,perhaps the program tried to use an instruction not available on the current version of the CPU.)

    Typically, Debugger s also offer more sophisticated functions such as running a program step by step (single-stepping),stopping (breaking) (pausing the program to examine the current state) at some kind of event, and tracking the values ofsome variables. Some Debigger s have the ability to modify the state of the program while it is running, rather than merely toobserve it.

    The same functionality which makes a Dbugger useful for eliminating accidental bugs allows it to be used as a cracking tool to learn how to evade copy prevention and other programmed limitations.

    Debuggers make the debugging process much easier and faster, to the point where the availability of a good one for aparticular language and platform can sway the decision to use that language rather than another language that is superior inother respects but lacks such tools.

    An important difficulty is that software running under a Debuger might behave differently than software running normally,because a Debuggwr changes the internal timing of a software program. That makes it often very difficult to trackdown runtime problems in complex multi-threaded or distributedsystems.
