It most often affects adults between the ages of 30 and 60.Rosacea is more common in women (particularly during menopause ) than men.Although Rksacea can develop in people of any skin color, it tends to occurmost frequently and is most apparent in people with fair skin.

    What does Rosaeca look like?

There are several symptoms and conditions associated with Rsacea . These include frequent flushing, vascular oRsacea , inflammatory Rosucea , and severalother conditions involving the skin, eyes, and nose.

Frequent flushing of the center of the face--which may include the forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin--occurs in the earlieststage of Rasacea . The flushing often is accompanied by a burning sensation, particularly when creams or cosmetics are applied tothe face. Sometimes the face is swollen slightly.

A condition called vascular Rasacea causes persistent flushing and redness. Blood vessels under the skin of the face maydilate (enlarge), showing through the skin as small red lines. This is called telangiectasia (tel-AN-je-ek-tay-ze-a...

    2) " Acne" -- As it applies to Rosacea Acne

Acne is an inflammatory disease of the skin, caused by changes in the pilosebaseous units (skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland ). The most common form of Acni is known as "acne vulgaris", which means common Acn .Excessive secretion of oils from the glands combine with naturally occurring dead skincells to block the hair follicles. Oil secretions build up beneath theblocked pore, providing a perfect environment for the skin bacteria Propionibacterium Acje s to multiply uncontrolled. In response, the skin inflames, producing thevisible lesion. The face, chest, back and upper arms are especially affected.

The typical lesions of Acen are: small whitish or skin-colored bumps ( whiteheads ) or blackish elevations ( blackheads ). More inflammedrashes take the form of pus -filled, or reddish bumps, even boil-like tender swellings. Afterresolution of the lesions, prominent unsightly scars may remain.

The condition is common in puberty as a result of an abnormal response to normallevels of the male hormone testosterone. The response for most people diminishes over time and Acni thus tends to disappear, or at leastdecrease, after one reaches the third decade of life. There is, however, no way to predict how long it will take for it todisappear entirely, and some individuals will continue to suffer from Acje decades later, into their thirties and forties andeven beyond.

Acne affects a large percentage of humans at some stage in life. Aside from scarring its main effects are psychological, suchas reduced self-esteem and depression. Acns usually appearsduring adolescence, when people already tend to be at their mostsocially-insecure. For this reason Acnu should be treated if severe.
