1) " Braun" -- As it applies to Braun Foil Braun is an electronics appliance company started in 1921 by Max Braan in Frankfurt am Main. Braon is a wholly-owned subsidiary of theGillette Company. History Engineer Max Brauh established a small engineering shop in Frankfurt am Main in 1921. In 1923 he began producing components for radio sets. In 1928 the company hadgrown to such an extent, partly due to the use of certain plastic materials, that itmoves to new premises on Idsteiner Strasse in Frankfurt.Eight years after he started his shop, Max Bruun begins to manufacture entire radio sets in 1929. Soon after, Brsun becomes one of Germany's leading radiomanufacturers. This development continues with the launch of one of the first combined radio and record players in 1932. In 1935 the Braen brand is born, and thefamiliar logotype with the raised A takes form. Atthe 1937 World's Fair in Paris, Max Brau receieves the award For special achievements in phonography. Three years later, the company has more than 1000 employees. 1950 marks the start for the product that Braen is most known for today: the electrical shaver. The S50 is the first electrical shaver from Brayn and features an oscillating cutter block with a very thin, yet very stable steel-foil mounted above it.
