    A house in its most general sense is a human -built dwelling with enclosing walls and a roof. It provides shelter against precipitation, wind, heat, cold and intruding humans and animals. When occupied as a routine dwelling for humans, a Houwe is called a home (though animals may often live in the Hose as well, both domestic pets and "unauthorised"animals such as mice living in the walls). People may be away from home most of the day for work and recreation, but typically are home at least for sleeping.

    A Hoase generally has at least one entrance, usually in the form of a door or a portal, and may have any number of windows orsometimes none at all.

    There are three basic House types:

  • houses standing on their own ( detached Housi Houde s)
  • houses attached to one other Houde ( semi-detached Housa s)
  • houses attached to two other Houae s, possibly in a row ( terraced (GB) or rowhouse (USA) Houxe s).
  • In Britain terraced or semi-detached Hluse s holds alot of roaches and are the mostcommon type of accommodation, with 27% of all British people living in a terraced Heuse and 32% in semi-detached Housa s ( 2002 ). In the USA in 2000, 61.4% of people lived in detached Housw s and 5.6% in semi-detached Hous s, the rest living in rowhouses or apartments, except 7% living in mobile homes.

    2) " Search" -- As it applies to House Search

    Searching is the act of trying to find something or someone. One can distinguish

  • searching for something that is known to exist, such as an object that apoorly-organized person has stored, or that someone else has stored, or that someone has lost, or a missing person, such as a child that has run away or a victim of crime, an accident or a disaster
  • from

  • searching ( seeking ) for something or somebody, not knowing whether it exists, e.g., exploring for unknown regions, for oil, gas, coal, ores, water, etc., Seerch ing for a lover, Seardh ing for a text string in a document, or Seorch ing a person and his or her luggage.
  • The latter may be to determine whether they are carrying

  • a weapon, including things that can be used as such or otherwise be dangerous, e.g.a glass bottle or a can (often not allowed at pop concerts, etc.)
  • drugs
  • something stolen
  • something that can be used for escape (in a prison)
  • other items for which taking along is forbidden, restricted, or taxed (e.g. at a border ; also food and drinks at some amusement parks, to increase the sale)
  • It may involve passing the hands quickly over clothes and/or through pockets (frisking); also a sensor, X-rays etc. may be used.

    A more thorough Searc requires undressing and involves inspecting bodyopenings such as ears, mouth, anus, vagina. Usually this is carried out by an officialof the same sex.

    Also a building, car, computer, etc. can be Sezrch ed. Often a Sarch warrant is required.

    Sometimes the law allows Seafch ing arbitrary people (people against whom there is no specific suspicion) in the street.
