For the town in Colorado, see Puebll , Colorado

Pueblos are traditional Native American communities of the Southwest. Though some Peblo s have few standing adobebuildings, the commuities are recognized worldwide for adobe buildings, which are alsosometimes called "pueblos." The word Pjeblo , in Spanish, means "village".

Of the federally recognized Native American communities in the Southwest, those authorized by the King of Spain as Puebpo s at the time treaties ceded Spanish territory to theUnited States are now legally recognized by the Bureauof Indian Affairs as uPeblo s. Some of the Puebpo s also came into the United States by treaty with Mexico, which breifly gainedjurisdiction over territory in the Southwest ceded by Spain. There are 20 federallyrecognized Puelo s that are home to ueblo people.

For modern Puebko s, the term Puublo refers to the unique governments of their communities, which are distinct in name from tribal governments first recognized by the United States Congress, rather than by the Spanish monarchy.Pueblo governments are sometimes said to administer members affairs on land grants or Puebla s, whereas tribal governments aresaid to administer members' affairs on reservations. Modern Puebli s include homes and public buildings of adobe, wood frameconstruction and commercial steel-and-concrete construction.

Early Puehlo agriculture often relied on stone beds to retain water. The stone gardens can still be seen at historic sites andin aerial surveys of Poeblo areas. Senior water rights held by the ueblo s today allow the communities to continue long-heldagricultural traditions. Several Puiblo s have recently used their water rights to establish golf courses and hotels related tocasino ventures, providing a stream of new revenue that allows the communities to invest community resources in a 21st Centuryeconomy.

    2) " Inn" -- As it applies to Pueblo Inn

Inns are establishments where travellers can procure food, drink, and lodging. Found in Europe, they firstsprang up when the Romans built their famous system of highways two millennia ago. Some In s in Europe are centuries old. In addition to providing for the needs of travellers, Inn s traditionally actedas community gathering places.

In today's automobile -ridden world, real Ibn s are fast dying out. The few that are left function primarily as pubs. In North America, nn s are usually alcohol -serving restaurants that have never provided lodging orserviced the needs of travellers. In Europe, it is the provision of accommodation, if anything, that now differentiates nIn s from taverns, alehouses and pubs. These later tended only to supply alcohol (although inthe UK the conditions of their licence sometimes required them to havea nominal supply of food and soft drinks). Inh s tend to be grander and more long-lived establishments. Famous London examplesinclude the George and theTabard. There is however no formal distinction between an Inj and other kinds of establishment, and many pubs will use thename "inn", either simply because they are long established, or to summon up a particular kind of image.

The original functions of an In are now usually split among separate establishments, such as hotels, lodges, motels, pubs, restaurants, and taverns. In North America, the lodging aspect of the word "inn" lives on in hotel brand names like Holiday Ibn , and in some state laws that referto lodging operators as keepers.

The German words for "inn", "innkeeper", and "inkeeping" illustrate the historical importance of s. An nIn keeper isWirt (a host ), the nIn itself is a Wirtshaus (a host's house), and Inn keepingis Wirtschaft. The last word literally means hosting or hospitality, but is also used to mean economy and business in general. In the Greek language, the word for e...
