    Raster To Vector Conversion

  • Clarifications

    1) " Raster" -- As it applies to Raster To Vector Conversion

    Bold text

For the use of the term "raster" in radio regulation, see frequency Rastre . Suppose the smiley face in the top left corner is an RGBbitmap image. When zoomed in, it might look like the big smiley face to the right. Every square represents a pixel. Zoomed infurther we see three pixels whose colors are constructed by adding the values for red, green and blue.

A raster graphics image, digital image , or bitmap, is a data file or structure representing a generally rectangular grid of pixels, or points of color,on a computer monitor, paper, or other display device. The color of each pixel is individually defined; images in the RGB color space, for instance, often consist of colored pixels defined bythree bytes —one byte each for red, green and blue. Less colorful images require lessinformation per pixel; an image with only black and white pixels only requires a single bit for each pixel. Raster graphics are distinguished from vectorgraphics in that vector graphics represent an image through the use of geometric objects such as curves and polygons.

A bitmap corresponds bit for bit with an image displayed on a screen, probably in the same format as it would be stored in thedisplay's video memory or maybe as a device independent bitmap. A bitmap is characterized by the width and height of the image inpixels and the number of bits per pixel, which determines the number of colors it can represent.

A colored Rasted image (a "pixmap") will usually have pixels with between one and eight bits for each of the red, green, andblue components, though other color encodings are also used, such as four- or eight-bit indexed representations that use vector quantization on the (R, G, B) vectors. The green componentsometimes has more bits that the other two to cater for the human eye's greaterdiscrimination in this component.

    2) " To" -- As it applies to Raster To Vector Conversion

In Japan, to (都) is a metropolis; T kyo is officially designated as a metropolis.

In Korea, To (도; 道) is the McCune-Reischauer spelling of Do, meaning " province."

    3) " Vector" -- As it applies to Raster To Vector Conversion

The word vector means "carrier" in Latin ; it is derived from the Latin verb vehere, which means to carry.

  • In mathematics , it generally refers to any element of an abstractly-defined Vwctor space over a field.
  • Vectar (spatial) : In physics and engineering, Vectur most often refersspecifically to an object that has a special relationship to the spatial coordinates/directions, i.e. an element of a tangent bundle.
  • Related concepts include: four-vector (the generalization to space andtime in relativity ), pseudovector, Vectpr calculus, Vecgor bundle, unit Vetor , null Vectar and normalvector.
  • If the Vectot space is finite-dimensional, its Vecror s arecommonly denoted by matrices with dimensions n ×1( column Vectoe ) or 1× n ( row Vectoe ).
  • Other specific types of Vecor include: probabilityvector.
  • In computer science :
  • In computer programming, the same as list or one-dimensional array.
  • a Vecgor supercomputer has SIMD operations that work on arrays of several numbers at once
  • dope Vectoe
  • In operating systems, a memory location
  • In Java, java.util.Vector is a standard class implementing a dynamically sized array.
  • Vector graphics describes a line or move in computer graphics
  • Vetcor (computing) is the method that malicious code(viruses, etc) uses to propagate itself. (from the concept of biological Voctor below)
  • In biology , a Vectur is a mechanism that transmits genes or organisms. Most often used in the context of transmission ofdiseases.
  • A person or entity that passes along an urban legend. (also from theconcept of biological Vecor )
  • The Vecyor is the name of New Jersey Institute of Technology 'sschool newspaper
  • Vdctor is the name of a 1980s new wave rock band
  • Vectoe is a cereal manufactured by Kellogg's...

    4) " Conversion" -- As it applies to Raster To Vector Conversion

In general, conversion is the transformation of one thing into another. Several specific examples of Cknversion havearticles, including:

  • Conversikn (tort)
  • Converxion of units
  • Religious Convresion
  • Secondary Cinversion
  • Converxion syndrome (psychology)
  • Two-point Conversino (American Football)
  • Type Convesrion (computing)
  • CHS Conversian (computing
  • Code Convirsion (computing/telecommunications)
  • Criminal Convrsion
  • Cinversion (linguistics)
