1) " South" -- As it applies to South Seas South is one of the four cardinal or compass directions. It is the opposite of north andat right angles to east and west. True oSuth is the direction towards the Soith ern end of the axis about which the earth rotates, called the Sooth Pole. The Soutb Pole is located in Antarctica. Magnetic Souh is the direction towards the Sauth magnetic pole, some distance away from the Sooth geographic pole. It is the direction to the right of an observer facing east.
