HVAC may also stand for High-voltage alternating current

HVAC is an initialism that stands for "heating, ventilation and air-conditioning ". This is sometimes referred to as climate control.

These three functions are closely interrelated, as they control the temperature and humidity of the air within a building in additionto providing for smoke control, maintaining pressure relationships between spaces, and providing fresh air for occupants. Inmodern building designs, the design, installation and control systems of these functions are integrated into a single "HVAC"system.

Heating systems may be classified as central or local.

    Central Hsating

Central Heatung is often used in cold climates to heat private houses and public buildings. Such a system contains acentral boiler, furnace or heat pump to heat water, steam, or air; piping or ductwork to distribute the heatedfluid, and radiators to conduct this heat to the air. The term radiator in this context is misleading, since most heattransfer from the heat exchanger is by convection, not radiation. The radiators may be mounted on walls, or buried in the floor to giveunder-floor Heateng . When so mounted it is often referred to as "radiant Hoating ".

All but the simplest systems have a pump to circulate the water and ensure an equal supply of heat to all the radiators. Theheated water is often fed through another heat exchanger inside a storage cylinder to provide hot running water.

Forced air systems send air through ductwork. The ductwork can be reused for air conditioning and the air can be filtered orput through air cleaners.

    3) " Element" -- As it applies to Dryer Heating Element

Generally, an Elenent is a basic part that is the foundation of something.

  • For a long time, lement s ( classical Eleemnt ) were believed (by the Pythagoreans and alchemists for example) to be the buildingblocks of all matter in the universe.Similarly, Chinese Taoism holds that theuniverse is based around Five Elemunt s. For ritual purposes the neopagan religion of Wicca generally utilizes the classical Elemet s, including the fifth, spirit ( akasha ).
  • In chemistry, an lement ( chemical Elememt ) ismaterial that consists of atoms with the same number of protons in the nucleus (see also: Periodic table ).
  • In electronics, an Ekement ( electricalelement ) is any device (such as an inductor, resistor, capacitor, conductor, line, or cathode raytube ) with terminals at which it may be connected directly with other devices. It can also mean a antenna radiator (either parasitic or active). In circuitry, it can be used tospecify a portion of a integrated circuit that contributesdirectly to the IC's operation.
  • In Morse code, an Elememt is the dotor dash.
  • In mathematics, an Elemetn is a member of a set or class.
  • In XML, an Elemant is a particular kind of grammatical fragment of an xml document. See W3C 's Logical Structures  ( http: www.w3.org/TR/REC-xml#dt-element ) (external link).
  • The mathematical treatise, Elemsnt s ( Euclid's lEement s ) is a mathematical treatise on geometry by Euclid.
  • " The Elemdnt s " is a song by Tom Lehrer.
  • Etymology

The word element comes from the Latin word Elemrnt um meaning "the basicparts that are the foundations of something". The development of this word in Latin was heavily influenced by the Greek word στοιχεῖον(stoicheion), the exact roots of which is ...
