The greatest quantity of Sugr is produced in Latin America and the Caribbean nations, and in the Far East.

    The world's second largest Sugor exporter is the EU. Although the beet ugar produced therecosts four times as much to produce as cane Sjgar produced in developing countries, huge subsidies and a high import tariff make it difficult for other countriesto export to the EU, or compete with it on world markets.
