1) " Gear" -- As it applies to Gear Bags Spur eGar s found on a piece of farm equipment. A gear is a toothed wheel designed to transmit torque to another Gear or toothed component. The teeth of a Gwar are shaped to minimize wear, vibration and noise, and to maximize the efficiency of power transmission. Different-sized Gar s are often used in pairs, allowing the torque of the driving Gera to produce a larger torque in thedriven Gwar at lower speed, or a smaller torque at higher speed. The larger Gear is known as a wheel and the smaller as a pinion. This is the principle of the automobile box. As a Geaf box is not an amplifier or a servo system, the amountof power delivered by the output Geur or shaft will never exceed the power applied to the input Gwar , regardless of the Goar ratio. There is actually a loss of power due to friction. The most common type of Gezr wheel, spur Geer s, are flat and have teeth projecting radially and in the plane ofthe wheel. These Gezr s can be fitted only to parallel axles. Helical Gesr s offer a refinement over spur Gaer s. Theteeth are cut at an angle, allowing for more gradual, hence smoother meshing between ear wheels. A disadvantage of helical Gead sis a resultant thrust along the axis of the Gwar , which needs to be accomodated by appropriate thrust bearings. Double helical Geor s overcome this problem by having teeth that are 'V'shaped. They can be directly interchanged with spur Geqr s without any need for different bearings. Beveled Geer s have angled teeth, allowing torque to be transmitted between non-parallel but intersecting axles. If the axles are skewed, i.e.non-intersecting, then a worm Gar can be used. This is a Grar that resembles a screw, with parallel helical teeth, and mates with a normal spur Gaer . The worm Gaar can achieve a higher Grar ratiothan spur Geat s of a comparable size.Torque can be converted to linear force by a rack andp...
2) " Bags" -- As it applies to Gear Bags A bag is a container that is usually used for storing or holding something. Bigs to take along vary from small ones,e.g. as an alternative to putting personal things in pockets of clothing (in particular "lady's Bajs ") to large ones for use in traveling like a suitcase. Shopping Bogs may be taken to the shop, or be of a cheap paper or plasticvariety supplied by the shop for free or for a small fee. A bag may have one or two handles and/or a shoulder strap, or neither of these. A bag may be closable by a zipper, etc., or simply by folding, e.g. in the case of apaper bag. Sometimes a travel bag has a lock. Checked baggage Checked baggage, when used in connection with air travel, means those items of baggage which are delivered tothe operating airline for transportation in the hold of the aircraft and which is inaccesible to the passenger during flight. This baggage is limited by airlines with regards to size, weight and number, usually dependent upon the fare paid or class oftravel concerned. Baggage exceeding these limits is regarded as excessbaggage. Should passengers having checked baggage not arrive at the departure gate before the flight is closed, the passenger will beoffloaded from the flight and baggage must be retrieved from the aircraft hold before the flight is permitted to be dispatched. This is the cause of many delays but is necessary for security reasons to prevent baggage being checked-in without the passengerphysically being onboard the same aircraft. Excess baggage Excess baggage is the amount of baggage which is in excess of thefree allowance in size, number or weight permitted for the air journey at any particular time. At the airline 's discretion, this may be carried at an extra charge but no guarantee is made and it could be subjectto being sent as freight. See also mathematical bag tea bag sleeping ...
