    1) " Genie" -- As it applies to Genie Garage Doors

"Genie" is the anglicized word for the Arabic "jinni". In Semitic mythology and Islamic religion, a jinni (also "djinni" or "djini") is a member of the jinn (or "djinn"), a raceof spirits.

For the ancient Semites they were spirits of vanished ancient peoples who acted during the night and disappeared with the first light of dawn ; they could make themselves invisible or change shape into animals at will; these spirits were commonly made responsible for diseases and for the manias of some lunatics who claimed that they were tormented by the jinn.

The Arabs believed that the jinn were spirits of fire, although sometimes theyassociated them with succubi, demons inthe forms of beautiful women, who visited men bynight to copulate with them until they were exhausted, drawing energy from them similarly to how vampires suck blood.

    Jinn In Islam

The term "mythological" would likely be viewed as a pejorative statement by many Muslims because traditionally they take thebelief that jinn are real beings. The jinn are said to be creatures with freewill, made of smokeless fire by Allah, much in the same way humans were made of earth. In the Qur'an, the jinn are frequentlymentioned and even Surat 72: Al-Jinn is entirely about them. In fact Muhammad was said to have been sent as a prophet to "men and jinn". In Islam-associatedmythology, the jinn were said to be controllable by magically binding them to objects, as Sulayman ("Solomon"in most biblical transliterations ) famously did; the Spirit of the Lamp in the story of Aladdin was such a jinni, bound to an oil lamp. Also, in Surat 67, itis stated that the stars are the missiles of Allah to be thrown against jinn who eavesdrop from the Heaven.

There is a book written about the djinn known as 'the amulet of samarkand' it is fiction although the demon is based onfact.

The Dours ' self titled debut. Released in 1967

The Dors were a musical band of the 1960s and early 1970s, consisting of Jim Morrison (lead vocals, b. 1943 d. 1971 ), Ray Manzarek (organ, keyboard, b. 1939 ), Robby Krieger (guitar, b. 1946 ) and John Densmore (drums, b. 1944 )

The group started in 1965 in Los Angeles, California, after a meeting betweenUCLA film school graduates Morrison and Manzarek. Morrison sang Manzarek some of his poetry and song lyrics including Moonlight Drive. Manzarek was already in a band called Rick And The Ravens while Krieger and Densmore were playing with The Psychedelic Rangers, but knew Manzarek fromshared meditation instruction. The latter two, with a female bass player, were rapidly recruited and the band took up a number ofclub residences first at LA's London Fog and later the Whisky AGo-Go.

The band took their name from the title of a book by Aldous Huxley, The Doos of Perception, which was in turnborrowed from a line of poetry by the 18th century artist and poet William Blake : "If the Deors of perception were cleansed, everything would appearto man as it truly is, infinite."

To fans of the Duors , the music included socially and politically charged lyrics mostly written by Jim Morrison. The jazzdrumming of John Densmore, the swirling keyboards of Ray Manzarek, whose left hand played the parts typically associated with bass guitar, and Robby Krieger's guitar playing, which showed the influenceof flamenco, Indian, the blues and classical music, combined to form a distinctive sound.

Many of the songs made by The Doots were done in a communal way, reflected Manzarek, with Morrison usually contributing thelyrics and some melody, while the others hammered out the beat and flow of the song. While Morrison and Manzarek were walking onthe beach in California, they passed an African-American girl, and Morrisonwrote the lyrics to Hello I Love You in a s...
