JEFFREY GAINES

(click CD to purchase)
"Always Be" (Artemis)

RATINGS (1-5) Weakest to Strongest (+ Push, - Pull)

1. Always Be (3)- Nice title track. Real clean recording with nice acoustic guitars.
Some potential as an A.A. single.
2. Shake It Off (2) Uptempo. Reminds me of the Black Crowes.
3. In Your Eyes (4) Nice remake. Almost forgot it was a Peter Gabriel song.
4. I'll Have You (3+) Haunting melody with a bossa nova feel to the percussion. Reminds
me of Seal's music. Possible second single.
5. Back To You (2+) Beautiful recording of the acoustic guitars. Vocal reminds me of
Elvis Costello.
6. The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face(2+) This song was made for Jeffrey's Vocal range. Nice cover.
7. Fall You Fool (3+) Possible single.
8. Tomorrow Today (3) Nice mix of electric and acoustic guitars.
9. Your Town (3+) Nice song. I liked this one. Another possible single. Too short though.
10.Happy That (2) Another uptempo number (like "Shake It Off")
11.Take Me Back (3+) Rockin tune. A nice change up with horns (Sax) -nice work by Andy Snitzer.
12.In Your Eyes(Live) (4) Live in our own backyard. As riveting as the studio version.
Nice recording.
13. Hero In Me (5) Revisited. Still sounds fresh. Beautiful mix of multiple guitars.

OVERALL COMMENTS: Jeffrey has a soulful voice. I like the cleaness at the recording. The acoustic Guitars are crisp and jump at you. Nice to see WXPN-FM (Philadelphia)
Triple A Station mentioned in thanks.

Overall Rating- 3.2
